An intern is required for a project titled "Efficient numerical methods for optimal power flow"
Project title: Efficient numerical methods for optimal power flow
Supervisor: Assistant Professor Elena Gryazina
Annotation: Reliable operation of electric power systems requires the real-time matching of instantaneous electricity generation and demand. Achieving a continuous match between supply and demand requires utilities, grid operators, and other stakeholders to use a variety of sophisticated software operating across a wide range of timescales. Existing grid software was designed for a power grid centered on conventional generation and transmission technologies. Recent years have seen major developments in new types of resources including distributed energy resources, intermittent resources (wind and solar), and storage. There is high demand in the development of efficient numerical methods for optimal power flow.
Internship duration: from 2 months depending on the intensity of the visit
